Walker's winning mentality

6th November 2014

Jamie Walker wants Hearts to keep bagging points in exciting Championship race.

Jamie Walker believes that there are still plenty of twists and turns to come in this season’s battle for the Championship.

The Jambos sit on top of the pile after 11 games and host Raith Rovers this weekend. Though the flying winger believes his team-mates are playing with their tails up, he knows it’s still early days in the campaign.

Speaking to the press this morning, Jamie said: “We’re playing well and we’re at the top of the table. We just need to keep it going and we’re looking forward to the Raith Rovers game at the weekend. Hopefully we can pick up another three points.

“We’re unbeaten and that gives the players a lot of confidence. We go into every game in this league thinking that we can win the game.

“The table would say that we are the best team in the league just now, but obviously there’s a long way to go. Rangers will keep picking up points so we need to keep picking up points and staying above them.

“Just now, us and Rangers have got quite a bit of a cushion at the top of the table but I wouldn’t count out anyone else just now. It’s only 12 or 13 games into the season so there’s still a lot to play for.

“Every game that goes by, and we don’t lose, we get more confidence. We’re just looking forward to the game at the weekend and then Falkirk.”
