First Team

Up for the Cup

24th August 2015

Robbie Neilson is expecting a tough challenge against League One leaders Forfar.

Robbie Neilson will make some changes to his side for Tuesday’s League Cup game at Forfar, but insists they are fully focused on progressing in the tournament.

The Jambos have enjoyed a flying start to the league campaign and Robbie is keen to carry that momentum into the League Cup. Speaking to Hearts TV on Monday, he revealed he’s expecting a tough test against the League One leaders.

“These games are always difficult, it’s a cup final for these teams. We’ll no doubt bring a big crowd, so we have to make sure we start right. We’ve prepared well for it and we’re treating it like we would any league game,” said Neilson.

Tuesday night’s match will be the second of three games this week and the Head Coach will take the opportunity to freshen up his team.

“It’s important to utilise the squad, we’ve got a lot of guys who are desperate to get some game time. We’ve also got an eye on Saturday’s game at Hamilton, but we want to progress in the cup so we’ll go there with a strong team.”
