Unfinished business at Tynecastle for Toby

27th January 2022

Toby Sibbick says fans can expect a different player from his last spell at Hearts, after penning a three-and-a-half year deal from Barnsley.

The English defender had a short, but memorable, loan at Tynecastle towards the end of the 2019/20 campaign - before illness, injury and Covid cut it short.

Two years older, two seasons wiser, and now back to full fitness; Toby says the Gorgie faithful will get to see him hit his full stride this time round in maroon.

"I've always had a special place for Hearts within me. The fans always sent me kind messages on social media, it's so good to be back," he told Hearts TV.

"I feel like fans only saw a glimpse of what I can offer. I can offer a lot more to this team."

The changes at Hearts have been vast since Toby last wore maroon, but one thing's remained the same - the buzz he gets at experiencing the thrill of a packed Tynecastle.

"I can't wait to get back out there. I remember my debut against Rangers and it was absolutely rocking. I watched the Celtic game as well and saw what the fans can bring. I want to bring the same to them."
