Hearts U20s ran out 1-0 winners over Celtic U20s last night.
The Wee Jambos won the Development League encounter, thanks to Ally Roy’s early second-half strike.
Jon Daly was able to call upon the services of Viktor Noring, Liam Smith and Dylan Bikey at Ochilview along with young stars such as Euan Henderson and Chrissy Hamilton.
Both ‘keepers were called into action in the first-half, with Celtic’s Conor Hazard touching Rory Currie’s 25-yard free-kick onto the crossbar, while at the other end Noring denied Jack Aitchison.
Noring was on top form with a hat-trick of good saves, before Alex Petkov fired wide after getting on the end of a set piece.
The Wee Jambos came flying out the traps in the second-half, taking only a minute to make the breakthrough. Roy found himself in space inside the Celtic box to drive a low shot in off the right-hand post.
Noring made another couple of fine saves before Andy Irving blasted over from Zidane Akers’ cut back right at the death, but it mattered not as Daly’s side held out for an impressive win over their Glasgow counterparts.
