U20s beat Dons

26th April 2017

Hearts U20s defeat Aberdeen U20s 3-1 away from home.

Hearts U20s ran out 3-1 winners over Aberdeen in their penultimate Development League match of the season.

A hat-trick from Rory Currie sealed all three points in an impressive performance by the Wee Jambos at North Lodge Park last night.

It took Hearts only 20 seconds to get their noses in front, with Currie getting on the end of a Jamie Brandon flick on to curl beyond David Craddock in the Aberdeen goal.

Five minutes later it was 1-1. Myles Storey slipped through Dean Campbell who beat his man and drove beyond Kelby Mason.

Jon Daly’s side regained the lead just before half-time, when Currie bagged his second of the game after some good build up play from Angus Beith and Ally Roy.

The striker completed his hat-trick on 76 minutes after latching onto a loose ball and drilling past Craddock to make it 3-1.

The Wee Jambos face city rivals Hibs on Monday in the final Development League match of the season at Oriam, kick-off is 1.30pm.

Hearts: Mason, Brandon, Reid, Hamilton, Smith, Petkov, Morrison, Beith, Roy (Akers, 85’), Currie (Irving, 78’), Moore. Subs: Paton, Baxter.
