U18s: Hearts 1-1 Hibs | Wee Jambos take derby point

14 May 2022

The Wee Jambos brought the curtain down on their last home game of the Club Academy Scotland schedule with a deserved point against a title-chasing Hibs side, with Murray Aiken's second half strike cancelling out McLuckie's second minute opener.

The first half was a reasonably tight game after the opening goal for Hearts, with chances at a premium as both sides felt the game out.

Liam McFarlane was called into action on occasion, but the Wee Jambos looked were holding their own commendably with this slender lead.

Some decent build-up play eventually saw Hibs bag an equalier - Murray Aiken pouncing to put the visitors back on level terms.

Liam McFarlane had to produce some more saves as the half progressed, but it was VAR who turned out to be Hibs' undoing - with a 78th minute strike ruled out by the video screen.
