As the new season approaches, the club is embarking on the next round of improvements by laying a brand new pitch.
The hallowed Tynecastle turf on the park will be lifted on 11th May and over the course of the following nine weeks a new pitch will be laid.
This Sunday and Monday (May 10 and 11), fans will have the opportunity to come down to the stadium and collect a piece of turf – 18x18 inches - to keep forever, for a minimum £5 donation per piece.
The current pitch has been down for around 15 years, so opportunities to own a piece of Hearts history like this don’t come around very often and the club is therefore expecting a high demand, and availability will be limited.
Supporters who wish to come down on Sunday can do so between 12pm and 6pm and enter the stadium via the Main Stand’s South Enclosure gate (towards the Gorgie Stand end), and the Clubstore car park will be open for parking. The same arrangements will be in place on Monday between 10am and 4pm.
It is recommended that those buying pieces of turf bring a bin liner to transport their purchase.
Please note that while cash is preferable, card facilities will be available for those making larger purchases.
Due to the fact that the cut-up pitch will die if not relayed in two days, the club cannot hold on to any pieces of turf for those who cannot make it to Tynecastle on Sunday or Monday.
