Tough challenge

25th September 2015

Head Coach looking forward to taking on the reigning champions on Saturday.

Robbie Neilson is looking forward to facing Celtic on Saturday and could give new boy Arnaud Djoum his first run-out in a maroon jersey.

Hearts returned to winning ways on Wednesday with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Kilmarnock in the League Cup. Robbie now hopes his team can carry that same spirit into Saturday’s match at Celtic Park.

Speaking to the media on Friday morning, Robbie said:

“The manner in which we came back against Kilmarnock was pleasing, we showed real spirit.  Celtic is always a difficult place to go and we’re in the early process of forming a defence, so it’ll be a good challenge for us.

"A lot has been made of their start to the season, but I’d say it has been good. Yes, they lost to Aberdeen but they went to Ajax and got a draw, which is a good result.”

Robbie may also look to give new signing Arnaud Djoum his debut on Saturday.

“I think he’ll do well for us, I don’t think his fitness is quite there yet but he’s got good experience and has played at a high level. He’ll be involved against Celtic and I’m confident he’ll prove a good addition to our team.”
