Ian Cathro has boosted his backroom team with the addition of Tom Taylor.
Tom takes up the post of Head of Fitness and will take his first training session with the first-team today.
The 26-year-old has a rich pedigree, having spent the past five years at English Premier League side West Ham.
A graduate of Swansea University with a first-class honours degree and masters in sports science, Tom spent five years as a sports scientist with the Hammers before ascending to the position of First-team Fitness Coach in 2015.
Speaking to heartsfc.co.uk ahead of this morning's session, Tom said: "The opportunity arose to come up here and work with Ian and the other coaches and it was one I was interested in as soon as I saw it was available.
"I initially came up and met with Ian and Craig and spoke how they like to work, the challenges ahead and where they see the future of the club.
"All of that tied in with exactly what I’m looking for and thankfully they felt I was the right man for the job, so I’m just looking forward to getting started.
"I definitely see this as a fresh challenge. I’ve spent the last five seasons at West Ham, which I’ve loved and enjoyed every minute, but I felt that I was ready for a new challenge.
"It’s the ideal time to start, given we’re beginning pre-season. I’ve had a little break since the end of last season but it’s nice to get back into the environment, meet everyone, meet the players, see how everything works and put my little spin on things where I feel things are needed."
