Harry Cochrane is looking to finish the season with a flourish after a frustrating injury-hit ten months.
The 18-year-old midfielder made only his fourth start of the season against Hibs last weekend, although he showed no signs of rustiness as he bossed the park in the early stages.
"At the start of the season, the gaffer has brought in quality first-team players - I knew it would be a challenge," Harry reflected.
"I was told last year that your second year is the hardest. It's been a tough one and it's not been helped by injuries but I'm glad to be back in about it just now."
With three games to go before the Scottish Cup final, Harry admitted it's a good time to try and break back into the team ahead of the Hampden showpiece.
"I need to try and keep the mentality that I need to keep working hard every day and get back in the team. Thankfully, I've been given the opportunity again.
"Everybody's playing for their place in the final. Hopefully on Sunday I've shown what I can do."
The Derby also marked Harry's 30th top team appearance - a feat that now elevates him to the first-team dressing room.
"That's me in now, yeah," the teenager grinned. "Tuesday was my first day in. I came in from training with my shoes and stuff tied up, so not a great start - there'll probably be more to come!"
