Hearts’ Head of Fitness Tom Taylor is running this year’s London Marathon to raise money for charity.
The fitness guru, who joined the Jambos in the summer from English Premier League side West Ham United, will take part in Sunday’s marathon to raise money for Mind, the mental health charity.
Tom has revealed it’s a cause that’s close to his heart, and has thanked the club for the support he has received.
Speaking to heartsfc.co.uk, he said: “I’m doing this for a mental health charity called MIND. It’s something that means quite a lot to me and my family, after losing my auntie last year to her own mental health battle, which she lost.
“The opportunity to raise some money for an organisation like MIND is something that I’m looking forward to doing.
“I’ve never done a marathon before but I’ve done a couple of half marathons. Training has been going really well. I’m just looking forward to going out and getting it done now.
“The boys have been great. They’ve donated quite a lot of money, as have the staff, which has been good. The support from everyone at Hearts as been brilliant and it’s definitely going to help me on my way round.”
