Hearts' Walking Football side lifts inaugural Scottish Walking Football League title

Hearts’ Walking Football side lifted the inaugural Scottish Walking Football League title last week at the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility.

Ten teams from throughout the country took part in the competition, organised by North Lanarkshire Leisure with support funding from North Lanarkshire NHS.

The Jambos entered two teams into the league, both named after famous Cup-winning sides; Hearts ’56 and Hearts ’98.

Hearts ’56 secured top spot, with Hearts ’98 finishing as first runners-up despite a fantastic run of results which pushed the ’56 team to the very last round of games.

The victorious Hearts ’56 squad featured Davie Barr, Jimmy Bremner, Brian Hymers, David McNab, Norman Campbell, Russell Brown, Chris Westwood and David Walkingshaw.
