Dale Carrick has revealed that rotation on the training ground means that Hearts’ strikers will flourish on the pitch, no matter the combination.
Competition for places leading the forward line is fierce, with all strikers having found the back of the net this season. ‘Speedy’ is certain that whoever is called upon to get goals against Alloa tomorrow will do so, thanks to the work done in training.
Speaking to the press at Tynecastle this morning, Dale said: “In training we have different partnerships. We try it differently with each of us.
“Keatsy and I have had a partnership during the week, we’ve changed it to me and Souf, it just always changes about, every day I’d say.
“We try and build partnerships somewhere so that if we are asked at the weekend to partner up then it’ll be quite a good one.
“We don’t find out who’s playing until the day of the game, really. Then we just go from there.”
Dale knows the Jambos will have to adapt their game at the Indodrill Stadium thanks to the astro-turf surface, but he’s already prepared for what lies ahead thanks to training there earlier in the week.
“The pitch was solid. It was quite tough to train on but I think we’ll go there and we’ll give it our best.
“With Alloa’s ground we’re going to play a lot on the deck. It’s a quick, sharp surface so we’re going to look to play very quick one-two’s and get it up top.
“I’m just waiting for my time to make an impact again. I’m just happy that I’m getting goals and hopefully I can just keep getting more.
“I’m growing the beard again, it seems to have a bit of magic! I scored two on Monday with the U20s so I’m going to keep it going. Maybe I’ll trim it, I don’t want it to get to the same extent as last time. Too much!”
