Strength in numbers

30th September 2021

Robbie Neilson may utilise his squad depth when Motherwell visit Tynecastle Park on Saturday.

The Jambos head into the weekend off the back of an impressive 3-0 win over Livingston, which took the boys in maroon’s unbeaten cinch Premiership run to seven games.

With the Steelmen sitting one point behind in the league table, the manager is anticipating an entertaining game and could look to make the most of his strength in depth.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Robbie said: “The players have trained very well this week. The guys that weren’t involved have trained well so they’ve put themselves in contention.

“There will be one or two changes but it won’t be wholesale. We’ve got a way we want to play and we’ve got 20 players who can play it.

"When you play at Tynecastle and you get 18,000 there then it’s always a big game, no matter who you’re playing.

“Last week we had a brilliant atmosphere and a good performance so we need to carry that into this week.

“You’ve got two teams that are going very well in the league, two teams that are on the front foot and two teams that believe they can win the game.

“I think it will be an entertaining game, that’s for sure."
