St Mirren Reaction: Robbie Neilson

27th November 2021

Robbie Neilson was a happy man after Hearts’ win over St Mirren took the Jambos to second in the cinch Premiership.

Goals from Gary Mackay-Steven and Stephen Kingsley ensured the three points stayed in Gorgie.

Knowing how competitive the league is this season, the manager was delighted to bounce back from last week’s defeat to Motherwell and insists his side’s aim is to just keep on winning games.

“We are pleased to be up into second place,” he said. “We had a chance to do it last week but it wasn’t to be.

“For us it’s about winning games right now. Everyone can beat everyone, that’s just the nature of this league.

“In games like this the first goal is always vital. St Mirren make you work very hard, and they will win a lot of games this season.

“We now move on to the next game.”
