Robbie Neilson believes his side’ performance fully merited all three points at McDiarmid Park this evening.
The Jambos dominated proceedings at St Johnstone and had Josh Ginnelly to thank for cancelling out Liam Gordon’s opener, but try as they might the men in maroon couldn’t find an elusive winner.
Unbeaten in all 11 cinch Premiership games and third in the table, the manager is happy with the way his team is dominating games but knows they need to work on taking their chances.
Speaking at full time he, he said: “I think we played really, really well. There was some brilliant football and we passed it well in some good areas but it was just that final wee moment wasn’t there.
“The key thing for us is that we’re coming up here against a team that is very, very good at home, cup winners last season and we dominated the game with 70% possession and 20 shots on goal but the disappointment is that we never took the three points that we merited.
“There are definitely areas that we can improve on. The key thing for me is that we’re playing very good football and we’re dominating games. We just need to work away on getting that final moment.”
