Smith earns fourth cap

19th November 2018

Michael Smith earned his fourth cap for Northern Ireland last night in their Nations League match against Austria.

The full-back played 90 minutes and his Hearts teammate Aaron Hughes was an unused substitute as Michael O’Neill’s side lost 2-1 after conceding an injury time goal at Windsor Park.

The result leaves Northern Ireland bottom of group B3 and relegates them to group C in the next Nations League campaign.

Harry Cochrane played the full 90 for Scotland U19s in their 5-0 win over San Marino in Wales on Saturday.

Chris Hamilton made a substitute appearance in the 77th minute as the young Scots cruised to victory, their second in a row.

They need only a point against Sweden tomorrow to qualify for the European Championship Elite Round.

Marcus Godinho was an unused sub as Canada kept up their 100% CONCACAF Nations League qualifying campaign with a 1-0 win away to St. Kitts & Nevis.

Canada have won three game out of three and are on course to qualify for both League A and the Gold Cup.

Colin Doyle and Jimmy Dunne's Republic of Ireland are in Nations League action tonight when they travel to Denmark.

Ireland sit bottom of group B4 with one point and have had their relegation into group C confirmed.

Arnaud Djoum’s Cameroon take on Brazil tomorrow in a friendly match. The Indomitable Lions face the five-time world champions at Stadium MK in a 7.30pm kick off.
