Scottish Cup tickets on sale Monday to season ticket holders

15th January 2016

Tickets for Edinburgh derby Scottish Cup tie on sale Monday at 9am to season ticket holders.

Tickets for Hearts’ William Hill Scottish Cup fifth round tie against Hibs will go on sale at 9am on Monday, 18th January.

The Jambos will line up against their city rivals in what is undoubtedly the tie of the round, on Sunday 7th February at 12.30pm. The match will be broadcast live from Tynecastle on Sky Sports TV.

Season ticket holders will have from Monday 18th to Monday 25th  January to purchase a ticket – one per account and subject to availability – for the match.

In order to be as fair as possible to all supporters and in an effort to accommodate all of the club’s season ticket holders there will be no reserved seating and tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis.  This is to allow for the fact that circa 1300 Season ticket holders from the Roseburn Stand will be displaced, because of Scottish Cup Rule 36, which states that the visiting club has the right to claim up to 20% of the capacity of the stadium.   Additionally, were we not to do this, the makeup of our season ticket sales in the other 3 “traditional” home stands, would mean that only single seats and the occasional pair of tickets would be available to our displaced Roseburn Stand Season ticket holders.  Clearly, this would be very unsatisfactory.

Subject to the take up of the season ticket holders in this initial window, there will then be a further sales period for non-season ticket holders.  Preference will be given to non-season ticket holders who purchased tickets for the 4th Round Cup match against Aberdeen at Tynecastle.

Once again, we are doing this in the spirit of fairness.  In order to achieve this, however, those supporters within the second window will require to buy their tickets either in person or over the phone, as a manual checking process will be required.  They will have from Tuesday 26th – Friday 29th January to do so.

Any remaining tickets will then go on general sale from 9am on Monday 1st February.

Season ticket holders can purchase a seat from 9am on Monday via the club’s three sales channels: online at Hearts eTickets, over the phone by calling 0333 043 1874, option 1 or in person at the Hearts Ticket Centre on McLeod Street.

Demand for this match is expected to be extremely high, with added pressure put upon phone lines and Ticket Centre sales staff. It is therefore recommended that, if possible, season ticket holders purchase through Hearts eTickets.
