Sam Nicholson wishes the season was starting tomorrow after he penned a new three-year deal at the club.
The flying winger committed his long term future to the Jambos and insisted that continuing his development at Tynecastle was an easy decision to make.
Speaking to HeartsTV, Sam said: "I'm definitely pleased to get my contract sorted. I'm raring to go for the season now. I've had a good holiday and I just want to hit the ground running this season.
"I think development-wise, playing here is going to be the best for me. I'm playing a lot of first-team games and I feel like I'm improving. I think the most important thing at this age is to improve and this is going to be the best place for me.
"Three years is definitely a long term commitment. I liked the plan that we were given when we had meetings with Ann Budge. The plan for the future ahead is making everyone happy to be a part of it and I'm looking forward to it."
Sam believes that a huge Tynecastle support at every home game will be key to the men in maroon bouncing back to the Scottish Premiership at the earliest opportunity.
"It'll be brilliant for the players if we have a full house every game," he said. "Last season we were getting relegated and we were still selling out the stadium. It just shows what the fans are capable of. If we get it this season then it'll be brilliant for the players as well.
"We all know the target ahead. The target is to get promoted. If everyone approaches it in the right way then hopefully we'll achieve it. It really matters how we do in the games."
