Ryotaro Meshino was on target for Japan U23s yesterday in their AFC U23 Championship defeat to Saudi Arabia.
The Jambos forward levelled proceedings in the 56th minute, only for the Samurai Blues to concede an 88th minute goal to hand Saudi Arabia a 2-1 win.
Japan sit bottom of Group B of the competition that is taking place in Thailand.
Up next is a meeting with Syria on Sunday before facing Qatar three days later.
Ryotaro is scheduled to leave the tournament on January 16th ahead of Hearts’ William Hill Scottish Cup tie against Airdrieonians next Saturday.
