Ryan Edwards has revealed that this pre-season has been the toughest of his career but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Australian midfielder and his teammates have been put through their paces since reporting back for pre-season duty last week, and spent today tackling the dread sand dunes of Gullane Beach.
Ryan admits it was the hardest day of training so far but knows it will be beneficial as the Jambos head into the start of the 2018/19 season.
Speaking to HeartsTV, he said: “This is a nice view to do a workout in but this has definitely been the hardest day so far in the pre season.
“It’s been enjoyable to come back in for pre-season but it’s definitely been one of the hardest I’ve done in my career so far.
“The boys have been working ever so hard and I think it’s going to be beneficial for us.
“There’s no pain in the legs, I think they’re just jelly at the moment! It’s just a massive calf and quad burner, going up the hills and down the hills.
“The fitness (work) so far has been brutal but at the same time it’s going to be really beneficial going forward.”
Ryan’s interview is available to watch in full on HeartsTV.
