Robbie Neilson has acknowledged that Hearts face a big month on the pitch, but he’s not looking beyond this weekend’s match with Raith Rovers.
The Jambos entertain the Kirkcaldy outfit at Tynecastle on Saturday and the head coach insists his focus is firmly on bagging another three points at home.
Speaking to the media this morning at the Hearts Football Academy, Robbie said: “It’s a big month but last month was a big month as well. December will be a big month.
“We’ve said it all along that we can only concentrate on the next game, which is Raith Rovers. Once that’s out the way then we’ll look at Falkirk.
“Hopefully, if we’ve picked up a good set of points from that we can then take some confidence into the Rangers game.”
Hearts will be without the services of the injured Danny Wilson and the suspended Callum Paterson on Saturday, but Robbie shot down suggestions that he’s facing a defensive crisis.
“Not at all,” he stated. “We’ve got guys who can come in. We’ve got a big squad of good players. We’ve got Jordan McGhee, a Scotland U21 international, Kevin McHattie, a Scotland U21 international, that can come in.
“I’ve got no issues at all. We’ve got Brad McKay, who played 30 games for us last season and played a couple this season, so there’s no issues at all about losing players and who’s going to come in.
“The boys know what to do and they’re fit and ready to go. It’s their opportunity to get in the team.”
