Robbie Neilson has told his players to disregard everything that’s happened so far in this title-winning season and focus on beating Hibs on Sunday.
The Jambos are unbeaten in three derby games this campaign, having wrapped up the Championship weeks ago in record-breaking fashion.
However, head coach Robbie - who was presented with his fourth manager of the month award - insists none of that will matter at Easter Road this weekend as he sends his players out to put a smile on the faces of 3,800 travelling Hearts fans.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference this morning, he said: “I think the one thing is that you just have to win it. That’s it really.
“I’ve spoken to the players about it; it doesn’t matter about where you finish in the league or how well we’ve done in the league, if you don’t win a derby match then everyone’s flat.
“The fans get down and the players get down so it’s important that we go and try and win the game.
“The mood in the camp is good and we’re looking forward to it. The weather’s good outside, we’ll take a full allocation down there so hopefully we’ll go down there and put on a performance.
“We were disappointed last week when we went to Ibrox last week and lost. It was a poor performance in the first half and we need to make sure that we right that wrong.
“The formbook does really go out the window. It’s about turning up on the day and handling the pressure.”
