Robbie: We must be ready for Dundee visit

29th July 2020

Robbie Neilson wants his players to hit the ground running in Hearts’ opening Championship game against Dundee.

The Jambos will host James McPake’s side on October 17th in the first of a 27-game campaign.

With Dundee, who finished 3rd in last season’s Championship, likely to be among the promotion hopefuls, Robbie knows a good start is vital for his team’s ambitions of an instant return to the top flight and he’s already looking forward to the season kicking off.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, Robbie said: “It’s a great one for us to look forward to.

“Dundee, along with a few other teams, will be looking to push all the way throughout the season so it’s great to get a home game against them.

“It gives us a target to look forward to. The players know they must be at it right from the start.

“It’s a tough start but the Championship is full of good teams that are well organised.

“For us, we’ll just concentrate on ourselves and make sure we start the season well.

“Hopefully we can get a good result and off to a good start.”
