Robbie: Start set the tone

26th January 2021

Robbie Neilson has hailed his players for coming flying out of the traps in their comprehensive 4-0 win over Raith Rovers.

The Jambos dominated proceedings at Stark’s Park, registering 21 shots while skipper for the night Craig Gordon cut a lonely figure at the other end.

Liam Boyce and Euan Henderson set the table-toppers on their way to victory with first-half goals before debutant Armand Gnanduillet added a brace late on.

The manager was full of praise for the way his side bossed the occasion and insists that’s how his team should carry themselves for the remainder of the campaign.

“You want to win every game,” he said. “It wasn’t about responding, it was about making sure we win.

“Every game, home or away we are favourites in this league and we have to show that.

“We started the game very well, the best we have for a long time.

“We had numerous chances to score early doors, even after we scored we could have had a couple more.

“That was probably one of the only downsides to the game. We didn’t really get the goals our play deserved.”
