Robbie Neilson believes that if his players reach the same heights as they did in their previous encounters with Ross County then they can take all three points in Dingwall tonight.
The Jambos ran out 2-1 winners in the highlands back in August, then won 2-0 against the Staggies at Tynecastle two months later, and the head coach hopes to to bag another win this evening, but knows the lads must hit top gear.
Speaking to HeartsTV, he said: “We can definitely take confidence from having already come up here and won. We played really well and got a good result up here, which is always difficult.
“We got a good result against them at Tynecastle. The style of play that we played in those two games is one that if we can do it again tonight then it’ll get us three points.
“I’m expecting a hard working team. They play 4-4-2 with a lot of energy, they play a lot of balls forward with exciting football end-to-end. It’s going to be an energetic game and it’s one we need to be fully prepared for.”
Injuries and suspensions will play their part in shaping tonight’s team, but Robbie insists squad rotation was always in cards given the team’s hectic schedule over the next ten days.
“We’ll see a little bit of squad rotation over the next few days,” he said. “We’ve got an issue with suspensions and injuries in defence so we’ll rotate the squad a little bit there.
“We’ve got some big games coming up; we play Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday so we have to make sure that everyone is in good condition for these games. It’s important that we’re ready to go.”
