Robbie pleased to get back on track

26th February 2022

Robbie Neilson was pleased with the manner his Hearts team got back to winning ways, as the Jambos secured a 0-2 win over St. Mirren at the SMISA Stadium in Paisley.

Goals from Ellis Simms and Cammy Devlin ensured that the men in maroon would take the points back to Edinburgh – and Robbie was satisfied with how his side pulled themselves back on track with a controlled performance against the Buddies.

“I’m absolutely delighted, to be honest with you,” he told Hearts TV.

“This is a really difficult place to come to. St. Mirren are a good club with good players that are having a great season.

“I thought we created a number of chances across the game, and I was really pleased to see Ellis score and Cammy get his first goal for the club – we’re never going to hear the end of it now though, are we?

“I thought Gino brought a lot of pace to the game when he came on – St. Mirren were looking pretty ragged and he brought another dimension as well. Very happy with the boys today.”
