Robbie looking for improvement

29th December 2020

Robbie Neilson says there is still room for improvement despite his team racking up another win.

A first-half Steven Naismith hat-trick made sure the Jambos won all three points against Arbroath at Tynecastle, with Kris Doolan pulling one back for the visitors.

Hearts now sit five points clear at the top of the Championship but the manager, although happy with parts of the performance, know that his side can still do more.

Speaking to Hearts TV, he said: “I thought it was a good result when you consider some of the other results in the league. Dunfermline drew and Raith Rovers got beat so it was important that we got three points tonight and we managed to do that.

“There were periods in the game where we played really, really well and there were periods in the game where we were a bit slack and didn’t play as well as we would’ve liked to.

“It’s something we need to try and work on. We spoke about that in the dressing room, doing it for 95 minutes.

“But I think we can do that, be at our highest level more often within the games.”
