Robbie: Keep enjoying football

23rd September 2021

Robbie Neilson has told his players to keep enjoying their football as the Jambos gear up to face Livingston on Saturday.

The boys in maroon extended their unbeaten start to the cinch Premiership campaign with a point at Ross County last week, and now host Livi in Gorgie this weekend.

The manager thinks two key aspects are playing a crucial part in the Jam Tarts’ march to the top of the table; being back in the top flight and the return of supporters.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Robbie said: “There are two things that the players are enjoying and I’m enjoying as well.

“The first thing is that we’ve got fans back. When you’ve got a travelling support or a home support like we have at Hearts, we’re taking 1,500 up to Ross County, we’ll be 17,000 or 18,000 at home at Tynecastle, so having the fanbase is brilliant.

“Also, being back in the top league. We had a year down in the Championship, playing at difficult grounds with no fans.

“Now it’s about enjoying it and enjoying the football.”

Robbie could welcome back some absentees into the fold. Michael Smith and Josh Ginnelly both missed last week’s trip to Dingwall, but the manager has revealed that the duo will be available for selection against Livingston.

“Michael is fine, Josh is fine,” he said. “We’ve got a full squad to pick from for Saturday.”
