Robbie Neilson hopes to have the services of Juwon Oshaniwa for tomorrow’s Scottish League Cup match against Celtic, though he has no qualms about staying with the same defence that held Ross County at bay on Saturday.
Nigerian international Oshaniwa was a casualty in the 1-0 win away to Dundee Unite the week previously and was forced to sit out the victory over the Staggies.
The Hearts head coach could call on his services tomorrow night as the Jambos look to progress into the semi-finals of the League Cup presented by Utilita.
Speaking to Hearts News, Robbie said: “Juwon is back in training so it looks like I’ll have a decision to make in terms of the defence for tomorrow night.
“He had a slight muscle injury but we rested him last weekend and he comes back into the squad for the Celtic match.
“Jordan McGhee, and the entire defence, impressed in the Ross County win so we’ll see how training goes today and take it from there.”
Hearts meet Celtic in a cup competition for the third season on the bounce with a place in the semi-finals at stake. Robbie is calling on all Hearts fans to pack out Tynecastle and get right behind the team.
“Home advantage in a tie like this is massive and we need as many Hearts supporters through the door as possible,” he said. “The backing we get both at home and on the road is tremendous and it really does boost the team, so we want the boys to run out to a sea of maroon tomorrow night.
“A packed Tyneacstle will give us a huge advantage in terms of progressing through the tie.”
Tickets for home fans are on sale now via the club’s three sales channels; online at Hearts eTickets, over the phone by calling 0333 043 1874, option 1 then 8 and in person at the Hearts Ticket Centre on McLeod Street.
