Robbie Neilson hailed the character of his Hearts team, after a gutsy display in the penalty shootout.
The Jambos booked passage to the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup after seeing off a spirited and well-organised Livingston following a full 90 minutes and extra time.
The manager was full of praise for his team, and revealed that the squad would be getting some well deserved time back after a hectic fixture schedule.
“It was a tough game and we knew it would be," he said."Livingston are a very good team that have caused a lot of upets this season.
“If I was an opposition player stepping up for a penalty and Craig Gordon is in goals, I'd have a squeaky bum! I thought the lads all struck their penalties really well. We had loads of possession but were missing that final wee spark.
"The final pass, the final touch – they weren’t quite there. All in all though, I can’t falt them too much; they worked their socks off today.
“The boys will get a couple days off now to recharge the batteries and hopefully get that freshness back."
