Robbie: Disappointing performance

22nd July 2014

Head coach feels players didn't do enough as much-changed side falls to 3-0 defeat in Dundee.

Robbie Neilson admitted he was disappointed in the performances of his players tonight as the Jambos fell to a 3-0 defeat at Dens Park.

A Gary Harkins penalty and a Luka Tankulic double proved to be the difference as Robbie made seven changes to the side that played against Manchester City.

"I was disappointed tonight to be honest", said Robbie. "I thought the boys would have a bit of fire, and try to take the chance to impress.

"I thought Dundee were really impressive tonight, they much better than us.

"We lacked the fire of recent weeks. However, it's still only pre-season, if they didn't know already, the boys will soon learn what's expected of them."

Lastly, the Head Coach offered a quick update on the condition of Billy King, who had to leave the park after a rough challenge in the first half.

"Billy's fine, he just took a knock to his thigh but he'll be alright for Saturday".
