Robbie Neilson insists Hearts need to be more ruthless in front of goal after a frustrating 1-1 draw with Greenock Morton.
The Jambos had to come from behind after Craig McGuffie’s opener, with Jamie Walker heading home the equaliser after 71 minutes.
The manager knows that his side weren’t at it in the final third this afternoon and says they need to be better at their decision-making in crucial moments.
Speaking to Hearts TV, Robbie said: “It was very, very frustrating. We created a number of chances and had lots of shots at goal, I think the stat was 26 overall, but we only scored one so from that perspective we’ve got to do a lot better.
“We got into some great areas and the final pass, final shot or final moment just wasn’t as good as it’s been so far this season.
“I just think there has got to be more of a ruthlessness in the team to put the ball in the net or to make the right decision at the final moment.
“Today, we dominated the game, we were in the their half probably 70% of the time, we had loads of opportunities to either score with a shot or play that final pass but it just wasn’t quite there today.
“You’ve got to be ruthless. There have been times this season when we have and really demanded it, not only out of ourselves but out of each other, and we didn’t do it today.”
