Faycal Rherras’ Morocco opened their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a defeat to DR Congo.
Junior Kabananga’s 55th minute goal was all that separated the two sides, in a match where the Hearts full-back was an unused substitute.
The other Group C game between Ivory Coast and Togo finished goalless, leaving Morocco with a chance of still qualifying for the next stage.
The Atlas Lions are back in action on January 20th when they take on Togo, while Arnaud Djoum’s Cameroon face Guinea-Bissau in their next group game tomorrow.
