The annual Remembrance Sunday Service will be held at the Heart of Midlothian War Memorial at Haymarket on Sunday, November 11th.
Conducted by Club Chaplain Andy Prime, the service will be attended by the first-team, coaching staff and members of the board.
This year's Remembrance Sunday Service will commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the end of First World War. It will be an inclusive event open to all; supporters, our community, wider organisations and members of the public. Further details will be announced in due course.
In addition to the service, attendees are also invited to join The Memorial Walk from Haymarket to Tynecastle Park once the service is complete. Once at Tynecastle, The Story of McCrae's Battalion will be told by pupils from four Edinburgh High Schools and guests who have pre-purchased a ticket will be welcomed to join us for the Remembrance Sunday lunch in the Gorgie Suite - featuring a range of curries and accompaniments.
The day will be broken down as follows:
10:50am - 11:20am. Remembrance Service
The Remembrance Sunday Service will be held at the Heart of Midlothian War Memorial at Haymarket.
11:30am – 12:00pm. The Memorial Walk
The Memorial Walk from Haymarket to Tynecastle Park represents a walk of remembrance for all of those who have served and died for their country.
We would like to encourage all attendees to wear their club’s scarves.
12:15pm – 12:45pm. The Story of McCrae's Battalion
The Story of McCrae’s Battalion will be told at Tynecastle Park, read by pupils from Tynecastle High School, George Watson’s College, Balerno High School and West Calder High School.
Musical performances by Larry Guild, Craig Herbertson, Royal Scots Association Pipe Band, Salvation Army Band and the Tynecastle Youth Community Pipe Band.
1:00pm. The Remembrance Lunch
Guests are invited to enjoy a relaxed get together in the Gorgie Suite in the afternoon. A range of curries and accompaniments will be available and tickets are priced at just £6.
A cash bar will be in operation throughout. Remembrance lunch tickets must be purchased in advance online at Hearts eTickets.
There will be an accessible viewing area set up for the service at Haymarket however there is a maximum number of spaces available. The area is available for supporters with any disability not just for wheelchair users. Personal Assistants are also very welcome.
