Gavin Reilly is relishing his first taste of top flight football and is keen to tap into the experience of his new team mates as he bids to establish himself as a first team regular.
The striker joined the Jambos from Queen of the South this summer and made his first competitive appearance as a substitute on the opening day of the season. The youngster was a prolific goal scorer for Queens and convinced he will only get better at Tynecastle.
“I’m really enjoying it here, the lads and the fans here are great and everyone has been really welcoming. Obviously this is my first taste of the Premiership so I can’t be expecting to jump in and start every game, but it’s all about developing as a player,” he told Hearts TV.
The Jambos host Motherwell at Tynecastle on Wednesday night and Gavin is eager to get more game time under his belt in order to build on his already impressive goal scoring record. He insists, however, that the quality he’s up against in training every day is doing wonders for his development.
“Some of the guys in the dressing room have played at a really high level, so training and playing with them is only going to make me better,” he explained.
