Reaction: Robbie Neilson

30th January 2021

Robbie Neilson heaped praise on Craig Gordon and Jamie Walker for their contributions at either end of the Park as the Jambos stretched their lead at the top of the table to 12 points.

Walker came off the bench to grab the winner with a sublime strike ten minutes from time to defeat Dunfermline Athletic at Tynecastle.

Speaking to Hearts TV after the match, Robbie said:

"It was a tough game, we didn't play to anywhere near the levels we had on Tuesday night against Raith. Ultimately it's about getting three points and we've managed to do that today," said Robbie.

"Craig Gordon made some outstanding saves and it was a day where it looked like the goalkeepers would come out on top until Jamie Walker stepped up to the plate with a wonderful finish.

"I thought Jamie did really well for us on Tuesday night against Raith. His groins were a bit tight after it so we decided to bring Steven Naismith in and give Jamie 15-20 minutes at the end and he's gone on to win us the game."

Finally, Robbie delivered some disappointing news as it emerged winger Josh Ginnelly will miss the rest of the season due to a ruptured hamstring.

"Josh will go for an operation in the next week or two. It's a massive blow for us all and not least for Josh who has been magnificent since day one.

"So we're now looking to strengthen in that area, I think that's important as we don't have a huge amount of options and we need someone that's going to give us the pace that we need out there."
