Robbie Neilson was happy his players hit their targets after Friday night’s demolition job over Raith Rovers.
The Jambos cruised to a 4-0 win at Stark’s Park, their second Kirkcaldy rout this season, to finish 12 points ahead of second-placed Dundee, thanks to goals from Euan Henderson, Steven Naismith and Gary Mackay-Steven’s brace.
With the league’s top scorer in ranks with Liam Boyce, Craig Gordon with the league’s most clean sheets and the division’s most goals scored and least goals conceded, the manager praised his Championship winners for finishing the season in style.
"We spoke about 57 points wins you the league guaranteed,” he said. “You score more than 50 goals, you win the league; we did that. Concede less than 25 goals you'll win the league; we did that.
“All three indicators over the last 25 that would win the Championship, we've managed to do them so I'm delighted to finish like that.
"We hit all the targets. We've had spells in the season when we weren't at it but ultimately it's a good season because we've won the league and we're back in the top flight."
