Places up for grabs

20th March 2021

Robbie Neilson believes there are places up for grabs in his Hearts team as they look to continue their unbeaten run.

The Jambos have gone eight matches without defeat, picking up five wins during that period.

Saturday’s Championship encounter with Arbroath kicks-off a hectic spell of three games in seven days and with an international calendar on the horizon the manager thinks spaces may open up for some, with the overall message being to keep on winning.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he said: “The last few weeks we’ve been pretty consistent in our team selection but with the international break coming up we’re going to lose a few players.

“It’s a chance for guys to come in. Hopefully, if we do well in the Scottish Cup, there will be a number of games next month so we’ll need to rotate a wee bit as well.

“It’s like anything at Hearts, it’s just about winning the next game. We’ve got three games in a week coming up; we go up to Arbroath then up to Brora and Queen of the South at home.

“We hope to win all three games and keep progressing, and keep entertaining.

“I think it’s important that we keep scoring goals, play well and try to keep the momentum going until the end of the season.”
