Perry Kitchen gained his first USA cap as a Heart of Midlothian player in yesterday’s win over Puerto Rico.
The US triumphed 3-1 in the friendly win, with Perry playing the first 45 minutes.
Midfielder Perry has been included in the US’ Copa America squad for this summer’s tournament and is looking forward to playing his part in the historic competition, the first to be held outside of South America.
Speaking to Hearts News after the game, he said: “I was delighted to be handed a start and that we won the game.
“It’s a real honour to be called into the squad for what will be a historic Copa America tournament.
“I’m really looking forward to being a part of it. Hopefully we do well and then I’ll come back to Hearts and help with the European campaign.”
