Callum Paterson has today left Hearts to join Cardiff City following the expiration of his contract at Tynecastle.
The 22-year-old joins the English Championship side after spending seven years with the Jambos, coming through the Hearts Academy into the first-team and ultimately ascending into the full Scotland ranks, winning five caps for the national team.
Callum moved to Hearts from the renowned Tynecastle Boys Club in 2010 and made his professional debut three years later in a 2-0 victory over St Johnstone.
The right-back went on to make 162 appearances in a maroon jersey and scored 38 goals.
Under FIFA regulations, the club is entitled to training compensation, which has been agreed with Cardiff City.
Callum has been a firm favourite with the fans for many years and we know they are sad to see him go.
On behalf of all of these supporters and indeed everyone here at Tynecastle, the club would like to thank Callum for his efforts and we wish him well in his career.
