Hearts supporters have moved quickly to snap up over 10,000 tickets for the Jambos’ William Hill Scottish Cup tie against Hibs.
The remarkable feat has been achieved in record-breaking time, with the 10k mark hit in less than 12 hours since going on sale to season ticket holders this morning.
Robbie Neilson’s lads host their city rivals on Sunday, 7th February – kick-off 12.30pm – for what is now almost certain to be a sold out fifth-round match.
A Hearts spokesperson said: “We knew there would be a high demand for this game but the reaction has blown us away.
“To sell over 10,000 tickets in a day is quite incredible and further shows the level of backing afforded to us by the Hearts fans.
“We have now sold out 11 home league games in a row this season, and it looks like this William Hill Scottish Cup Fifth Round match will be yet another sell out to add to the already lengthy list. To see thousands of fans queuing from 7am in horrendous conditions today was quite remarkable”.
Season ticket holders have until Monday, 25th January to buy a ticket, one per account, but this is subject to availability.
