Robbie Neilson has moved quickly to secure the services of Osman Sow on a two-year contract.
The Swedish striker - Hearts' eighth signing of the summer - becomes the latest name to join the revival after impressing during his trial.
An imposing figure, the 6 foot 4" hit-man started and scored in last week's 3-0 friendly win over East Fife, as well as slotting the equalising goal in the eventual 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in Friday night's Main Stand centenary match.
Speaking exclusively to Hearts News, Robbie said: "I'm delighted to get Osman here. He's a tall, athletic player who will add strength to our forward line.
"He's a quality player and spent last season down in the English Premier League with Crystal Palace, so it's a bit of a coup to get him here.
"I've been impressed with him in training and with his appearances against East Fife and Manchester City. I'm very satisfied now with the attacking options that we have."
Hearts News will have an EXCLUSIVE first interview with Osman later today.
