Olly Lee believes putting the hard work in now can set the Jambos up to hit the ground running come the start of the 2018/19 season.
The recent arrival from Luton Town joined his new teammates for the start of a grueling pre-season campaign last week as preparations for the upcoming season got into full swing.
He revealed he’s been welcomed with open arms into the dressing room, and hopes putting in the graft now can lead to success on the pitch throughout the season.
Speaking to HeartsTV at the launch of the brand new Hearts Clubstore, he said: “I can just about feel my legs again! It’s been a tough couple of days but it’s been enjoyable as well.
“It’s been nice to get to know the boys and I’m really pleased to be here.
“I’ve been really impressed so far. For me, everyone’s been great. Everyone’s welcomed me with open arms and I can’t speak highly enough of them.
“It seems like we’ve got a really good group of lads here and I can’t wait to get going.
“This is where you have to put the hard yards in. We’ve got six weeks, it’s tough work and no one enjoys it but we all try and get the most out of it, get the fitness out of it and it’s nice for me, being new, to get to know the lads. It’s been really good.
“I think, obviously, we want to try and win a trophy. We want to see what we can do, we want to make these fans happy and make them proud.
“There’s a long history at this club and I want to be part of it, to be honest, and I want to add to that.
“If we can win a trophy and get a top four finish it would be brilliant. We’ll just keep on working day in, day out to get there.”
