Sam Nicholson has signed for MLS outfit Minnesota United after leaving Hearts under freedom of contract.
The 22-year-old winger’s contract expired at the end of May and he has decided to move across the Atlantic Ocean to continue his playing career, signing a two-and-a-half year deal.
Though the club is not entitled to training compensation on this occasion, a sell-on clause has been negotiated into the move.
A product of the Hearts Football Academy, Sam made his first-team debut in August 2013 and went on to make 127 appearances, and scored 15 goals.
The club would like to wish the former Scotland U21 international well at Minnesota United.
