Jake Mulraney says places are still up for grabs ahead of the Scottish Cup Final and some of the club’s younger stars may have played their way into the manager’s thoughts.
A much-changed Hearts side ran Celtic close at Celtic Park on Sunday, losing 2-1 thanks to a late Mikey Johnston strike.
Several of the younger players shone in the closely-fought encounter, with Mulraney himself scoring the Jambos’ equaliser, and he thinks that the performance will have given Craig Levein food for thought ahead of Saturday’s Hampden showdown.
“Everyone is trying to get themselves in the cup final team,” he said. “We created some chances on Sunday and shown we can score goals against Celtic.
"The boys did well on Sunday and we've beaten Celtic already this year.
“Some of the young lads gave a great account of themselves. They could have done enough to get themselves into the team."
