Robbie Neilson has kickstarted his summer recruitment with the capture of Robbie Muirhead.
The talented striker has put pen to paper on a one-year deal at Hearts, following his release from Dundee United last season.
Highly regarded as one of Scottish football’s most promising young players, 20-year-old Robbie made a name for himself at Kilmarnock, breaking into the first team in 2013 at the age of 17.
Capped at U19s for Scotland, he moved to Dundee United for around £150,000 in the 2015 January transfer window before enjoying a loan spell at fellow Premiership side Partick Thistle last season.
He becomes the head coach’s first signing this season ahead of Hearts’ Europa League campaign, and Neilson believes he’s bagged a player who’s ready to fulfill his potential.
Speaking to Hearts News, he said: “I’m happy to get Robbie signed up for next season.
“To get a player of his quality in for free represents great value, and I know he’s desperate to do well here.
“He knows the Premiership well and has real potential.
“He’s at an age now where that potential has to be carried through and I think this is the perfect place for him to do it. It’s win-win for all parties.”
