Minute's silence tonight

30th November 2016

Hearts and Rangers will honour the lives of Chapecoense with a minute's silence tonight.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a plane carrying 77 passengers crashed on its approach to the city of Medellin in Colombia. Just six people survived.

The aircraft was carrying players and officials from Brazilian side Associação Chapecoense de Futebol. The team had been due to play in the final of the Copa Sudamericana, against Columbian side Atletico Nacional tonight.

A period of three days of mourning has been declared in Brazil and tonight, the players of Hearts and Rangers will wear black armbands in respect to the 71 players, staff, press and family who tragically lost their lives and a minute silence will be observed inside Tynecastle.

We respectfully ask fans of both clubs to take their seats as early as possible tonight as we join together to pay our respects to our football family in Brazil.
