Message from Ian Murray

25th August 2013

Listen to FoH chairman Ian Murray's half-time speech as he thanks fans for their backing.

Foundation of Hearts chairman Ian Murray yesterday thanked the club's supporters for remarkable backing on Saturday.

Gary Locke's Hearts team produced a spectacular victory, richly deserved with goals from Jamie Walker and Jordan McGhee to send the Dons packing, and all with ten men after Kevin McHattie was dismissed.

The day was all the more special with the Foundation of Hearts taking on the role of match sponsor, the rights having been paid for by directors and advisors to the umbrella supporter group.

Speaking on the Tynecastle pitch at half time, Ian said: "We've got over 7,000 now supporting the Foundation of Hearts. This is the largest supporter movement in Scottish football history.

"The deal is not done yet but what we are saying to other fans is that this is your club, this is our club and we should own it.

"We are here today watching Hearts play Aberdeen because of what you have done for the club.

"We have got preferred bidder status because of what you have done for this club.

"I have to say quite clearly there are no words to say other than 'thank you' to every fan in this stadium."

The Foundation of Hearts have kept over several rights from today and these will be used in a major competition after the first drawdown of direct debits.
