Jordan McGhee has joined Middlesbrough on a season-long loan deal.
The Scotland U21 cap will see out season 2016/17 at the English Premier League side after today agreeing a switch.
19-year-old Jordan made the breakthrough into the Hearts first-team back in 2013 and has went on to make 70 appearances, scoring four goals.
Speaking to heartsfc.co.uk about the move, he said: “I’m really looking forward to the challenge of playing in the English Premier League. Every young boy wants to do their best, they strive to play there. Luckily for me this opportunity has come around and I’m really looking forward to it. I know I’m not going to play there straightaway, it’ll take time, but with some hard work and effort then I’m sure it can happen for me.
“The club has been great with me for the last ten years. They’ve been different class with me, all the coaching staff. Everyone I’ve had from when I came up as a youngster and they’ve made me become who I am today. I’m really grateful for that and I’m sure I’ll always keep an eye out for Hearts’ results.
“The fans have been really good, they’ve been different class with me. I thank all of them for that and I’m sure the boys in the dressing room do too. They’ve been with us all the way from relegation to where we are now, playing in Europe. Hopefully the club can keep pushing forward.”
